Speaker Bio
Chelsey Jersak is an urban planner and entrepreneur working at the intersection of city building, strategy, and housing approvals. She is the founder of Situate, a development consultancy that helps real estate entrepreneurs unlock density and get housing approved in existing urban areas, with a focus on rezonings, development permits, and appeals. Chelsey is also the cofounder of Wello, a company focused on building homes for friendly neighbours—designed to make sharing space, costs, and connection easier. Over the past two decades, she has worked across the public and private sectors to shape planning policy and regulation and get projects approved. She is a Registered Professional Planner and a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. From 2017 to 2025, she served on the board of the Infill Development in Edmonton Association (IDEA), including four years as President, supporting industry advocacy during a period of significant growth and change. Chelsey brings a perspective grounded in both policy and practice, with a focus on how planning and approval systems can better support the delivery of new housing.
